This is the 2nd post in my Summer Favorites series and this time I will be featuring my favorite blushes for Summer 2013.
Mac Her Blooming Cheek (A Tartan Tale Collection, 2010) – This was the blush I wore most of all this summer. It is a bright fuchsia pink with a gorgeous sheen. It is cool toned but still looked really good on my warm skin. Her Blooming Cheek is definitely not for those afraid of colour. It actually looks really similar to Mac’s Azalea pro blush but Azalea is brighter and warmer. You can wear it how you like though, sheer or built up for more intensity.
Illamasqua Tweak Blush – Out of all of my Illamasqua blushes this is definitely my favorite and it is a great colour for summer. This hot pink/watermelon coloured blush adds just the right amount of vibrancy to the skin and blends like a dream. It has a matte texture and I enjoyed layering it under other blushes with more of a sheen or sparkle to them.
Illamasqua Excite Blush – My latest Illamasqua blush purchase is Excite. I picked it up before Christmas last year because I needed another orange blush. Well that is a big fat lie haha! Technically the colour is “apricot” not orange so I feel like the purchase was justified. Anyway, it was a really fun colour to wear this summer when I didn’t feel like having pink cheeks. I wore this heaps with my more subdued/natural looks. It is definitely a great every day colour that adds a natural looking flush to the cheeks.
Rock and Republic Shameless Blush (Discontinued) – This was pretty much the only non-bright blush I wore this summer. For those days that I needed to get out the door quick but needed a little something on my cheeks, this bronzy blush was just perfect. I loved wearing it on top of Mac’s Mineralized Skin Finish Natural for glowy and effortless skin. I really wish I could have gotten my hands on more Rock and Republic blushes before they decided to discontinue their makeup line. The formula is fabulous and silky with excellent payoff. They do pop up from time to time on Ebay but the prices are crazyyy 0_0.
