It’s time for part 3 of my Summer Favorites series and it’s all about eyes. They are the feature I like to play up the most on my face and I have fun wearing all sorts of makeup looks. I have absolutely no problem wearing bright colours in every season but I do it more often in summer as I favour smokier, vampy looks in the colder months. This summer I reached for heaps of green and blue shades and I’m happy to share them with you right now!
Mac Marine Ultra Chromacake – I’m not sure if Mac still do these chromacakes. It’s a water activated base that works brilliantly under loose shadows as it gives them something to stick to but you can also use pressed shadows with it. It is particularly good for layering under blue shades because using a base colour that is the same shade as your eye shadow will make it pop like crazy. I didn’t limit myself to just using it with blue. You can rock many different colours over this baby.
Mac Marine Ultra Chromacake and OCC Cavu Blue over Marine Ultra
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Cavu Blue Loose Colour Concentrate – This is of my favorite blues and I wear it all the time. It’s a brilliantly bright azure with a gorgeous sheen. The blue stands out so well behind my glasses and I always get asked about what I have on that was is so amazingly blue when I wear it. As you can see in the picture above wearing it over a blue base really makes it shine.
Mac Soft Ochre Paint Pot - Another base made it to my list. This paint pot was a super important part of my routine when I created bright looks. I like to apply it to the crease/socket to really make the colour I put there stand out and show up true to pan. I work with a lot of mattes and they can go really muddy on my dark skin. This lighter base underneath prevents that from happening so that I get full vibrancy.
Jordana Colour Effects Bright Eyes Liners – These babies are only $1.99 on Cherry Culture which is an amazing price considering how excellent they are. The colour payoff is fantastic and the texture is nice and creamy so there is no dragging along your delicate lashes. They make great bases if you want to layer other colours on top too.

Lit Cosmetics Lemon Tart and Green Machine Glitter
Lit Cosmetics Lemon Tart and Green Machine Glitter – Ahhh so pretty >_< I had the most fun ever wearing these this summer. They are so, so amazing in person and super eye catching. I like to wear them in a thin line atop a bold cat eye or in my tear duct. They really stand out and people could see it the glittery goodness even behind my sunglasses! A girl in a bakery made me take my sunnies off because she wanted to see what sparkly stuff I had on underneath. I was more than happy to tell her all about Lit Cosmetics and their amazing glitters.
Inglot Cosmetics Freedom System Palette – This is a palette I built at IMAT’s in Sydney. Honestly I neglected it for a long time which is very sad because I paid a pretty penny for it. This is what comes from having way too much makeup people. As you can see some of the colours have barely been touched but this summer I really dug into the greens and teals.
Urban Decay’s Vice Palette – Another palette I’ve barely touched apart from a few colours that I used quite a bit this summer. In my own defence this is one of my more recent purchases and I’m still discovering it’s charms :) This palette came in handy when I created some of my more neutral looks. I reckon it’s a great palette for summer since you get a nice selection of shimmery golds and bronzy shades as well as some brights.
That’s it for the eyes portion of my Summer Favorites series. I didn’t swatch my Inglot palette in this post because I plan on doing a separate post/review on it. You can find tons of pictures of the Vice Palette online if you do a quick search :) Stay tuned for the 4th and final part of Summer Favorites, lips and nails which is coming up real soon. As always feel free to comment below! Let me know what amazing eye products you rocked or will be rocking this summer for those of you just coming into the season.
